Castings

To be a model can start to be an interesting experience, then a lovely hobbie or even an envolving career. But it ain't all roses... Most of the times, models must apply to castings. So far so good... but what really is a casting?
I answer u with another question, what do 50 persons on a Summer afternoon, all closed in a room of small dimensions in Lisbon?
This is exactly the environment of a casting. The problem is not quite what we've got to do, but the time someone must wait. And, of course, there's always that constanct doubt: «Will i be choosen?» that gives a more melo-dramatic efect to the scene.
As time goes by, models will come and go passing by the door that conducts to the casting room, until comes our turn. It is the moment of all decisions and as soon as i walk by that door, there's no coming back. Sitted on a desk full of photos, are the people charged to make the choice. Most probably is to asking me for the «composite» and to show off in topless. Four hours of waiting could well resume to two decisive minutes and as many days carrying the irritant doubt «Will i be choosen?»... but the most certain is to, in less than 1hour, the tlm rings and from the other side of the line there's a voice that says: "Next week at the same hour you've got one more casting for another company".
Sometimes being a model demands this sacrifices (to all of us)...
